Why: 
Samsung has aired commercials during the Oscars before and in the past theyโ€™ve featured a-list celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and actor William H. Macy but this year, theyโ€™re featuring YouTubers to a mainstream audience, attempting to highlight the irreverent cool factor of vloggers. 
I think this is a signal of a changing zeitgeist from old to new media in the mainstream.
